Avcılar'da aşırı hız yaptığı iddia edilen bir otomobil yol ayrımındaki bariyere saplandı. Otomobilin ön koltuğunda oturan genç kadın bariyerlerin saplanması sonucuda feci şekilde can verdi. 

Kaza, Haramidere-Ambarlı Yolu'nda saat 22.30 sıralarında meydana geldi. İddiaya göre, aşırı hızlı olan 34 JA 6659 plakalı otomobil henüz belirlenemeyen bir nedenle yol ayrımındaki bariyerlere çarptı. 20 metre uzunluğundaki bariyer aracın ön kısmından girip bagajından çıktı. Otomobilin ön koltuğunda oturan, üzerinden kimlik çıkmayan genç bir kadını araçtan yola savurdu. Yola savrulan kadın feci şekilde can verdi. Olay yerine gelen sağlık ekipleri kadının hayatını kaybettiğini belirledi. Olay Yeri İnceleme ekipleri çalışmalarını tamamladıktan sonra hayatını kaybeden kadının cesedi Adli Tıp Kurumu'na kaldırıldı.

Kazayı gören kamyon sürücüsü Nurettin Aydemir, aracın çok süratli olduğunu iddia ederek, "Otomobil'in bariyere vurmasıyla durdum. Araba bariyere girdi bende ceseti görünce şok oldum. Hemen polis ve ambulans ekiplerine bildirdim. Otomobil sürücüsü yaşlı bir adamdı, bir isim söyleyerek bağırıyordu bu şekilde olay yerinden kaçtı. Ben de aracımın altına biri savrulmuş olabilir diye aracımın altını kontrol ettim" dedi. Polis ekipleri, kazayla ilgili soruşturma başlatırken kaçan sürücüyü bulmaya çalışıyor. - İstanbul / Avcılar

Yaylaya Giresun - Dereli-Şebinkarahisar yolu üzerinden 2 şekilde ulaşmak mümkündür. Dereli'den sonra Güdül-Yüceköy üzerinden gidildiğinde 60 km.'lik bir yol üzerinden ulaşılır. Ayrıca Şebinkarahisar yolundan devam edilerek, İkisu-Uzundere üzerinden de ulaşmak mümkündür. Bu durumda da Yaklaşık 84 km. yol kat etmek gerekir. Yaylada elektrik, su, ve telefon mevcut olup, İlkokul ve sağlık ocağı hizmet vermektedir. Yaylada 10 yataklı belgesiz bir otel bulunmaktadır. Kümbet'te Aymaç mesiresi ile Orman Bölge Müdürlüğüne ait Salon Çayırı orman içi dinlenme tesisleri yörede aktivite çeşitliliği yaratmaktadır. Bektaş Turizm Merkezi Giresun merkezden Evrenköy, Erimez, Yavuzkemal üzerinden gidildiğinde yaklaşık 56 km. uzaklıkta bulunan Bektaş Turizm Merkezi, çevresindeki Kulakkaya yaylası, Melikli Obası, Kurttepe Mevkii ve Alçakbel Orman içi piknik alanı ile birlikte bir bütün teşkil eder. Bektaş yaylasına yukarıda belirtilen güzergahlardan başka 3 değişik şekilde ulaşmak mümkündür. Bunlar; Giresun - Dereli - Yavuzkemal, Giresun - Batlama Deresi - İnişdibi, Giresun - Bulancak üzerinden giden yollardır. Bektaş yaylasında elektrik, su, telefon gibi altyapı mevcuttur. Yaylada 80 yatak kapasiteli ve iki yıldızlı bir otel de hizmet vermektedir.Yaz başlarında bile yer yer kar görülen yaylada Kurttepe mevkii kışın kayak yapmaya uygundur. Yaz aylarında burada çim kayağı yapmak mümkündür.

Sis Dağı Yaylası

Trabzon ile Giresun il sınırında bulunan Aladağ'ın en yüksek tepesi Alimeydan (sis) dağı (2182 m.) üzerinde geniş bir alana yayılmış küçük yaylalar topluluğundan oluşmaktadır. Görele ilçesinden 40 km. mesafede bulunmaktadır. bu dağ Ordu il merkezinden de görülmektedir. Sahile kuş bakışı en yakın yayla konumundadır. Su ve elektriğin mevcut olduğu yaylada, Her yıl Temmuz ayının üçüncü Cumartesi günü Sis Dağı Şenlikleri kutlanmaktadır. Bu dağ C statüsünde Milli Park olarak korunmaya alınmıştır.

Karagöl Yaylası

Dereli ilçesinin güney batısında, Giresun- Ordu - Sivas illerinin birleşme noktasına yakın bir konumda 3107 m. Zirveli Karagöl dağında bulunur.

Tamzara Yaylası

Tamzara Mahallesi ve yaylası Şebinkarahisar'ın hemen kuzeyinde bulunur.

Tamdere Yaylası

Tamdere yaylası Dereli ilçesi sınırları içinde, Şebinkarahisar yolu üzerinde yer almaktadır. Giresun'dan 80 km. Şebinkarahisar'dan ise 27 km. uzaklıkta bulunan yaylaya asfalt yollar ile ulaşılabilir

Kazıkbeli Yaylası

Daha çok bir kır pazarı olup, Her çarşamba pazarı kurulmaktadır. Yayla Gümüşhane'nin Kürtün ilçesi sınırları içinde olmasına rağmen, Genelde Giresun'un Tirebolu, Espiye , Görele, Eynesil, Güce, Doğankent ilçelerinden insanlar, Kazıkbeli çevresindeki yaylalara çıkmaktadır.

Pazar yeri tam dağın zirvesinde olup, Temmuz ayında kar görmek mümkündür. Kazıkbeli pazarına daha çok günü birlik eğlenmeye gelenler katılmaktadır.

Kazikbeli Yaylasına birkaç türlü ulaşım mümkündür. Birinçi ulaşım Tirebolu-Doğankent-Kürtün Üzerinden, İkinci ulaşım Sahilden Güce üzerinden, Üçüncü ulaşın ise Alucra ilçesinden.

Anastos Yaylası

Alucra ilçesinin güneydoğusunda yaklaşık 10 km. uzaklıkta bulunan yaylaya Kamışlı Köyü üzerinden ulaşılmaktadır. Elektrik ve suyu bulunan yaylada, yapraklı ve iğneli ağaçlardan oluşan karma bitki örtüsü güzel bir manzaraya sahiptir.

Geleneksel Giresun Evleri
Kalenin güneydoğusunda yer alan ve Zeytinlik Mahallesi adını alan semt eski tarihi Giresun evlerinden oluşur. Korunmaya alınmıştır ve ziyaretçilerin uğrak yeridir. Eski evlere meraklı olanlar için gezilip görülecek ilginç bir semttir.

TARİHİ
Giresun, Anadolu'nun kuzeydoğusunda, yeşille mavinin kucaklaştığı Karadenizin inci kentlerinden birisidir. Şehir, denize doğru uzanan yarımadanın üzerinde yer almaktadır. Yarımadanın karşısında Karadenizin tek adası olan Giresun Adası (Aretias), kentin bir kolyesi gibi durmaktadır.
Şehrin nerede kurulduğu ve kimler tarafından iskan edildiği konusu tartışmalıdır. Bu tereddüt M.Ö. 350 yıllarına ait kaynaklarda da yer almaktadır. Coğrafyacı Strabon, Farnakia dediği şehrin; bugünkü Giresun kentinin olduğu yerde kurulduğu üzerinde durmuştur. Romalı idareci Arrien Farnakia'nın eski adının Kerasus olduğunu belirtmiş ve buranın Sinoplular tarafından kurulduğunu yazmıştır.
Şehir hakkında Roma, Bizans ve Rum Pontus İmparatorluğu dönemine ait tatminkar bilgiler yoktur.
Eski Anadolu tarihi araştırmalarında, şehir ve kasaba tarihlerinde dil incelemeleri sonucunda, bu bölgede M.Ö. 2000'li yıllardan beri Türk varlığının mevcut olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
M.Ö. 7.y.y.da İskitlerin Karadenize göç etmesi ile Oğuz unsurları da bu bölgeye yerleşmişlerdir. Bu bölgede Oğuz boylarından Yazır, Döğer, Avşar, Karkın, Halaç'ların; Akhun, Kuşan, Peçenek, Hazar, Hun, Kıpçak Türklerinin yerleşimi mevcuttur.
Karadeniz bölgesinde, ilk ve orta çağlarda, İskit, Kimmerler, Hun, Hazar, Bulgar, Uz, Peçenek göçlerinin sonucu Türk iskanının olduğu, Karadeniz ağızlarının fonetik ve morfolojik yapısıyla birlikte yer adlarından da anlaşılır. Giresun'un batı yakasındaki Çıtlakkale mahallesinin adının Deliorman ve Selanik civarından gelerek buraya yerleşmiş olan Türk topluluğu Çıtaklardan geldiği, bölgede konuşulan lehçenin ve kültür unsurlarının Çıtak ve Gagavuz Türklerinin ki ile benzerlik gösterdiği görülür.
Hitit İmparatorluk dönemi tabletlerine dayanan tarihi kaynaklarda, Giresun'un Azzi Bölgesi sınırları içinde kaldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Karadeniz bölgesinde 90'a yakın koloni şehri kuran Miletoslular, Giresun ve Tirebolu şehirlerinin de kurucularıdır. Amaçları bu bölgeyi kendilerine yurt edinmek olmayıp, buraların her türlü yer altı ve yer üstü kaynaklarını sömürmekti. Bu yüzden yerleşim birimlerinin korunabilecek kısımlarını alıp buralara yerleşmişlerdir.
Çevresinde önemli gümüş ve demir üretim yerleri olan Giresun'a Romalılar tam bir hakimiyet kurmamışlardır. Onların döneminde bu bölgede para basıldığı rivayet edilmektedir. Roma idaresinin ilk dönemlerinde Romalı yazarlardan Ammianus Marcel'e göre Romalı komutan Lucullus buraya geldiğinde yabani kiraz ağaçlarını görmüş ve bu ağacın fidanlarını Roma'ya götürmüştür. Bu bilgi kirazın dünyaya Giresun'dan yayıldığı inancının kaynağı olmakla birlikte Roma'da daha önce de kirazın varolduğu belirtilmektedir. Giresun Romalıların ardından Bizanslıların denetimine geçmiştir.
Bizans egemenliği döneminde Yunan medeniyetinin büyük bir hızla gelişip yayılmasına karşılık, Yunan soyu gittikçe zayıflamıştır. Bu sebeple, Bizans İmparatorları, ülkelerinin içerisinde yaşayan ve başka soydan gelen insanları asimle etmeye çalışmışlar ve bu yolda en çok dil ve dinden yararlanmışlardır. Doğu Karadeniz'in ormanlık alanlardaki kabileleri itaat altına almak için ormanlar kesilerek yollar açılmış, yol boylarına muhafız kulübeleri yapılmış, hatta bir miktar Hıristiyan Bulgar Türk'ü de getirilip bölgeye yerleştirilmiştir. Bizanslılar bu yolda çaba harcarken 705 yılında ilk kez Müslüman Arap orduları bölgeye gelip İslamlığı tanıtmaya başlamıştır.
Anadolu Selçuklu Devletine vergi vermeyi kabul eden ve 1244'te Moğolların egemenliği altına giren Trabzon Türklerin bir eyaleti haline gelmiştir.
Trabzon'a bağlı bulunan Giresun ve çevresi Moğol nüfuzu altına girmiştir. İşte bu sırada, Oğuzların Üçok koluna mensup boylardan biri olan Çepniler; Ordu, Giresun ve Trabzon illeri sınırlarına yerleşmeye başlamışlardır.
Bayram Bey, Ordu ve çevresini kontrol altına alan Çepni Türkmenlerinin beyidir. Oğlu Hacı Emir Bey döneminde bu bölgeye "Bayramlu Beyliği" denilmeye başlanmıştır. O da aynı şekilde Trabzon Rum İmparatorluğunu sıkıştırmaya devam etmiş olup, Hacı Emir Beyin Oğlu Emir Süleyman Bey de, 1397'de Giresun'u fethetmiştir.
Böylece onun zamanında Giresun ve çevresinin fethi ve Türkleşmesi tam manasıyla sağlanmıştır. Bu beylik iç ve dış çatışmalar sonucu zayıflayıp Sivas Hükümdarı Kadı Burhaneddin'in hakimiyetine girmiş ve dolayısıyla Giresun da bu devletin sınırları içinde kalmıştır.
Bugüne kadar yanlış bir kanaat olarak Giresun'un Türkleşmesi Fatih Sultan Mehmet'in 1461'de Trabzonu fethiyle beraber gösterilmiştir. Giresun'un Osmanlı Devletine bu tarihte katıldığı doğrudur. Oysa Giresun'un Türkleşmesi 1397'de Bayramlu Çepni Türkmen Beyi Emir Süleyman Beyin Giresun'u fethetmesiyle gerçekleşmiştir. Bu yanlış kanaat yüzünden Giresun'da onun adını taşıyan hiçbir eser bulunmamaktadır. Dolayısıyla Giresun'un ilk fatihi tanınmamaktadır.
